The word yoga has as many meanings as there are yoga practitioners. We at Roots want to help everyone in creating their own perception of yoga. Each of us has our own reasons to come on the mat and we hope you choose a class always listening and respecting yourself. Our classes are always guided and you are there with our knowledgeable and trained teachers. We offer about 20 classes a week from soft to dynamic – sweaty, restorative, refreshing, relaxing and meditative yoga classes. You don’t have to know how to do yoga, recall asanas or understand yoga vocabulary. The most challenging part is over when you arrive.
In Roots for the first time? Awesome! We offer new customers a Roots Rookie card that includes 3 yoga sessions for a package price of 30 euros. We recommend this for beginners and new joiners in Roots to the opportunity to test a few different classes at a discounted price and find the right classes and teachers for you. The card is valid for one month.
If you haven’t practiced yoga before, we recommend you to start your practice from gentle classes. You can start yoga and attend our classes at any time of the year – our classes are not course-based. Other suitable classes for beginners include calmer yoga classes such as gentle flow. During these lessons, you will get in touch with yoga practice through gentle physical exercise. As a beginner, you can also try the very soothing yin yoga. Take a look at the class descriptions and find the right style of yoga for you.
It is important to book in advance in order to secure yourself a place on the class you want. Classes can be booked through our website for the current and next six days. A new day opens for bookings always at midnight. If a class is already full, you can register faor the waiting list. Please note that the waiting list is active and you will be notified by email if a spot becomes available.
If life sends you a curveball and you are unable to attend the class, please cancel your booking as soon as possible. Cancellations must always be made through our nooking system, as we cannot receive cancellations in any other way. Cancellation is free of charge 10 hours before the start of the morning classes and 6 hours before the start of the evening classes. Morning classes begin before noon and evening classes begin at or after noon. If the booking is canceled late or you do not show up for the class, the class will be charged from your existing yoga card or a cancellation fee of EUR 10 will be added to your account. If you have a monthly card, one day will be deducted from its validity.
No special preparation for a yoga class class is required. We recommend drinking enough liquids and eating well in advance of the start of the class. Drink and eat about 1-2 hours before your arrival for a class.
Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat to the studio, if you own one. We also have mats in the studios, if needed. Yoga is done barefoot, but also bring warm clothes for final relaxation and gentle exercises. As the nervous system calms down, the body also calms and cools down.
Our Roots Tampere studio is located in Tammela. Please check in advance where the studio is located. At the studio, you will find changing rooms and showers, as well as lockers.
Please arrive in good time so you can settle on your mat in peace. Reception opens 15 minutes before the start of class. We recommend arriving about 10-15 minutes before the start of the class. We close the studio doors exactly at the beginning of the class, and late arrivals will not have the opportunity to attend.
